EDP vs EDT vs Parfum — what actually changes?
These labels mainly describe fragrance concentration, but they are not a universal performance score. Formulation, ingredients, skin, climate and the way a specific version is built all matter.
Eau de ToiletteOften lighter in concentration and character.
Eau de ParfumUsually more concentrated than the EDT version from the same line.
Parfum / ExtraitGenerally the highest concentration in a fragrance range.
Why EDP does not automatically mean “better”
Industry concentration ranges overlap, and brands may reformulate the scent structure between EDT, EDP and Parfum rather than simply adding more perfume oil. A higher concentration can last longer in many cases, but it can also sit closer to the skin or smell noticeably different.
How to choose
Choose the version whose smell, projection and wearing style suits you. If you are buying online, compare the exact concentration and product name rather than assuming every version of a fragrance behaves the same.
